International

The Midi-Pyrenees Observatory and its laboratories is developing a wide range of cooperation schemes all over the world:

In Europe or in relation with the major technological and industrial forces, the Observatory exchanges skills, contributes to the main research infrastructures, participates in large scale space exploration programmes or global environment monitoring. The OMP is thereby contributing to the thriving of the European Research Area.

Alongside emerging countries the Observatory is developing various scientific programmes backed up by international laboratories, observation services, university courses and expatriate teams. These programmes are aimed at observing on a regional scale the dynamics of natural systems, the changes induced by human activity and their impacts on the health of populations.

The international activity of the OMP feeds into and inspires the international strategy of the Toulouse Midi-Pyrenees Federal University, in close agreement with the international policies of its five tutelles which are the French National Center for Scientific Resarch (CNRS), the French National Institute of Research for the Development (IRD), the French National Space Agency (CNES), the University Toulouse III Paul Sabatier (UPS) and the French National Weather Service (Météo France).
