Joint Master courses with foreign universities:
The OMP contributes to three Master courses which are taught in foreign universities:
The Physical Oceanography and Applications Master in the Université Toulouse III Paul Sabatier and the University of Abomey Calavi (Cotonou, Benin)
Hosted under the International Chair of Physics and Applied Mathematics, the Master 2 OPA (Physical Oceanography and Applications), created in 2008, is financed by the Institute of Research for Development (IRD), the company Total and the company FUGRO. This Master is the first international diploma in oceanography delivered under joint accreditation between European and African universities. In the last 7 years, 66 students from Africa (Benin, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Senegal, South Africa), Europe (France, Germany) and America (Brazil, Canada) have followed the course. At the OMP, LEGOS is responsible for this course. The current head is Nick Hall, Professor at the University Toulouse III Paul Sabatier.
The Master Water Environment and Oceanography Master at the Hanoi University of Science and Technology (Vietnam)
Created in 2009, the Master WEO (Water earth observation) has among its partners 17 French institutions, including the University Toulouse III Paul Sabatier, the French National Center for Scientific Resarch (CNRS), the IRD for supervision by the OMP, and the French National Institute Polytechnics of Toulouse (INP Toulouse). The LEGOS jointly ran the Master WEO from 2009 to 2015 (Sylvain Ouillon, Professor at the Université Toulouse III Paul Sabatier). From 2016, ECOLAB took over the running ( Magali Gerino, Teacher-researcher at the Université Toulouse III Paul Sabatier). The Master has around fifteen teacher-researchers from the OMP each year from the CESBIO, ECOLAB, the LA, the LEGOS and the GET. Other Toulouse laboratories take part in this course: Évolution et diversité biologique (EDB), the Institut de Mécanique des Fluides de Toulouse (IMFT), the Laboratoire de Chime Agro-industrielle (LCA), the Laboratoire de Génie Chimique (LGC), the Laboratoire d'Ingénierie des Systèmes Biologiques et des Procédés (LISBP). Since 2009, 50 students have followed the Master course, 30 of them have now received their diplomas and 20 are preparing their doctorates in France. A laboratory project attached to the Master has resulted in the creation of the HILO laboratory (Hanoi International Laboratory of Oceanography), certified since 2014 by the USTH and directed by Marine Herrmann from LEGOS.
Master in Astrophysics of the Universidad do Porto (Portugal)
The double diploma Master in Astrophysics set up by the University Toulouse III Paul Sabatier and the Universidad do Porto, under the agreement PAUILF Programme of integrated Franco-Portuguese university actions, in 2009. The IRAP runs this course jointly (Alain Blanchard, Professor at the University Paul Sabatier Toulouse III).
Master in applied biological science (Equador)
The Master in applied biological science set up within the Equador network composed of the Ecole Supériere Polytechnique du Litoral ( ESPOL), the Ecole Polytechnique Nationale ( EPN), the University of Cuenca ( UCuenca) and the Université technique du Nord ( UTN). The GET participates in this course (Laurence Maurice, IRD Research Director, assigned to represent the IRD in Quito, Equador).
Master in Applied Ecology at the Universidade de Sao Paulo (Brazil)
The Master in applied ecology in the Higher Agriculture School 'Luiz de Queiroz' of the University of São Paulo. The GET participates in this course (Laurent Barbiero).
Short recurrent courses on an international scale:
Summer school On modern instruments, their science case and practical data reduction (IRAP): 2015 edition (Brno, Czech Republic) organised by the European Southern Observatory (ESO), the OPTICON consortium and the International Astronomical Union (IAU).
SMOS Science Conference (CESBIO): 2015 edition (Madrid, Spain).
Winter school Observation Techniques and analysis methods for water management in Mediterranean agricultural drainage basins (CESBIO): 2015 session (Tunis, Tunisia).
The summer school Introduction to the hydrology and climatology of the Amazon basin (GET) organised by the HYBAM Observation Service in the faculty of agricultural engineering of the national agrarian university of La Molina (UNALM) - 2015 session.
Summer school Soil & Water Assessment Tool (ECOLAB) - 13th edition (July 2013, Toulouse, France).
